Ash Die Back

* Ash Die Back (Chalara) is killing our native Ash trees (Fraxinus Excelsior) . It is a fungus (Hymenoscyphus Fraxinus) that puts the tree into decline, whilst not always fatal it will seriously damage the health of its host. The spores can travel tens of miles and stopping the spread of the fungus is almost impossible. Current Forestry Commission advice is to let trees effected that pose no risk to buildings or people be left alone. This will give our native trees a chance to create genetic immunity to the disease. Wildscape are experts at dealing with trees effected with Ash Dieback, we will give a full assessment of the dieback and detail any risk associated with the tree. If the tree needs to be removed, we will careful remove the tree adhering to British Standard for Tree Work BS 3998:2010. Not all trees with die back should be removed. We will give our clients an honest and informed advice on how to manage any effected trees.

“Ash dieback will kill around 80% of ash trees across the UK. At a cost of billions, the effects will be staggering. It will change the landscape forever and threaten many species which rely on ash” - Woodland Trust
